3D Cocooner is a new kind of 3D printer that looks like a caterpillar or spider that the bionic technology platform spins complex yet stable shapes freely in space so you don’t need any support to print your material.
The device converts soft thread into a solid strip structure by covering it with resin in the spinneret.
The UV light cures the resin-soaked fibre making it strong.
And if you change your mind about the design, a built-in saw slices the resin when you want to change the position of the print head. The special resin will be softened again any time you want to change its position, angle, and to connect other parts during the printing process.
The current version can print at a rate of 10mm per second and you don’t need to wait until overnight to finish your creation.
