The social media giant Facebook has announced that they will soon adding 360-degree photo feature in an attempt to grow their audience of virtual reality users.
This announcement comes with the recent 360-degree video integration, that allows users to drag their view around their finger or cursor, or move the phone around in different angles.
After a million of people reportedly using the Gear VR, Facebook intended to refine its Oculus mobile app, and new photo feature can be viewed using Samsung’s Gear VR headsets.
It seems that Facebook now is serious in pushing for its move to VR since they claimed that virtual reality is the future of social media.
Facebook has released open source design for 360-degree camera to ensure people will discover, play with the technology and produce content which could hopefully produce funds through video ads.
