Shaped like a flying saucer, Facebook unveiled their gorgeous 360-degree video camera that let anyone encourage to build their own camera since it will be accompanied by 17 camera array web-based software to capture 360 degree images and videos and render them automatically.
It encourages everyone who loves to capture images, or even their own self using this 360-degree design, from hobbyists to manufacturers.
The device includes 14 wide-angle cameras, plus one fish-eye camera on top and another two at the bottom. It allows to capture the surroundings without a pole holding the camera.
And what’s exciting with the device is that it can work with ‘many hours’ without overheating and can export videos of up to 8K resolution.
“There’s something about how high-quality the experience is that immediately makes you believe in 360 film,” said Chris Cox, chief product officer at Facebook.
Facebook claims that positioning Surround 360 is as the best designed camera of its kind.
