A 24-year old college student Amos Dudley, graduating student at the New Jersey Institute of Technology has fixed his teeth with his own made 3D printed retainers.
Dudley has been a digital design student and has a passion in 3D printing and yes, he made this retainers using the technology.
With the help of the 3D software and math, Dudley turned the plaster model into a digital replica and able to print a dozen of his personal retainers.
He did wear an aligner between one and three weeks until he no longer feel any pressure on his teeth anymore.
Dudley’s incredible creation of his personal 3D printed retainer impressed orthodontist Dr. Richard Bloomstein, and say that dentist may have worked with it as well.
Dudley didn’t realize that his works could create profits but he stated that he’s not interested and he even declined several business offers. Except for the 3D printer company that they want to hire him.
